Easing Into Delight
After a year of social distancing, pivots, pandemic, racial reckoning, isolation, death, and grief, we are now beginning to start the process of re-entry. What does all this mean? What are we re-entering into? I'm not sure what is ahead, but I imagine that a part of this re-entry moment is becoming familiar again.
Becoming familiar again with hope. Becoming familiar again with excitement. Becoming familiar again with joy.
In these tender moments of recovery, I get the sense that some of us will need to go slow. Rather than rush ahead into everything, and every place, and every one we will need to gently become familiar again, little by little.
If you, like me, feel the need to ease into feelings of joy, amusement, and whimsy, this offering is for you.
ANNOUNCEMENT! I am offering 4 week online session entitled "Easing Into Delight." This at-your-own-pace 4 week online session uses writing, music, practical exercises, and community conversation to engage and gently reactivate a sense of delight. The Easing Into Delight 4-week session will by hosted by me, Helms Jarrell, through the Google Classroom platform.
The first Easing Into Delight session is May 1-31, 2021.
The cost of the 4 week session is $100
Each week, participants will encounter a playlist, a series of suggested reading & activities, and an opportunity to chat with other session participants about their experience. Participants will want to carve out a minimum of 3 hours a week to engage with the session materials. This session is part writing workshop, part interactive workshop, part community conversation, and part playful practice.
